Providence College, Fansonly Network Launch New www.friars.com
Sept. 21, 2000
Carlsbad, Calif. -- The Providence College athletic department, in conjunction with Student Advantage's FANSonly Network, today unveiled a complete redesign of the school's official athletic site, www.friars.com. The revamped site combines official athletic department content with the latest in digital technology and design.
Along with the new look, Friars.com offers expanded efforts to provide alumni, fans and media with complete information on all Friar sports. The site features live game broadcasts, up-to-date scores and statistics, audio and video clips, schedules, ticket information and interactive games and promotions. Fans can also continue to purchase officially licensed merchandise through the site's online store, with proceeds from each sale benefiting the athletic department.
"We have had a great relationship with FANSonly over the past four years," Providence College Assistant Vice President for Athletics John Marinatto said. "We are very excited to bring fans an enhanced web site covering Providence Athletics."
"We are excited that Providence College has chosen to enhance its official athletic site," Jeff Cravens, Vice President and General Manager of FANSonly said. "Friars.com is the complete destination for Providence College fans to follow their favorite Friar teams. The power of the Internet has become a vital part of an athletic department's marketing, media and promotional efforts, and it is a credit to Providence College that they have continued to make their site better."
