Friar supporters enjoyed a beautiful day at the Warwick Country Club.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - On Monday, June 2, the 2025 Hannoush Friar Golf Classic was held at Warwick Country Club. Friar supporters had the opportunity to network with coaches and student-athletes from each of the 21 varsity athletic teams. The proceeds from this event will directly support all student-athletes and address the funding needs of each program.
Providence College Athletics would like to thank Hannoush Jewelers, the title sponsor, as well as presenting sponsors: UG2, Friar Family Collective, Providence Friars Sports Properties, Coast to Coast Promotional Products, Rossi Electric, Lax & Co. and Millonzi Fine Catering.
Participants received premium player gifts from Nike, Titleist and Prime Time Sports. Guests enjoyed a gourmet breakfast and lunch sponsored by Michael '85, '14P and Tommy Abbood '14 from Veritas Management. The Capital Grille elevated the on-course experience with grilled steaks and a fresh oyster bar. Refreshments were provided by Coca-Cola and event signage was generously donated by Graphic Innovations.
The day concluded with cocktails, a buffet dinner and an engaging panel discussion moderated by Athletic Director Steve Napolillo'98. Panelists included women's basketball Head Coach Erin Batth, men's basketball Head Coach Kim English, and men's ice hockey Head Coach Nate Leaman, who shared insights into their programs. Topics ranged from the evolving landscape of college athletics to the strength of upcoming schedules and the impact of their competitive recruiting classes.
"The Hannoush Friar Golf Classic is one of my favorite events in our golf series," Napolillo said. "Each year, the Friar Family shows incredible support, especially our longtime title sponsor, Hannoush Jewelers. Thank you to our coaches and athletes for representing their programs at the highest level and engaging with our fans on the course!" Â
"Our guys had an awesome time connecting with Friar fans and supporters at the Hannoush Friar Golf Classic," English said. "A special highlight of the event was welcoming Ryan Gomes back home to Friartown."
"It's always a great day to be a Friar, but the Hannoush Friar Golf Classic is one of those events that truly highlights the love and devotion of Friartown," Batth said. "Thank you, Warwick Country Club, all of our sponsors and members of the Friar community for showing up and participating in this incredible event."
"It was great to play alongside former alumni who returned to support the program," Leaman said. "Their presence at the Hannoush Friar Golf Classic is a powerful reminder of the legacy they've built, and we're grateful for the way they continue to show up for the next generation of Friars."
