Audrey Knapp (Stevens Point, Wis.) opened the scoring 31 seconds into the game to give the Friars a 1-0 lead. Freshman

-Less than two minutes later, Maine tied the game on a goal from Frederikke Foss, with assists going to Ali Altman and Danielle Brunette.
-Providence regained the lead early in the second period when senior
Reichen Kirchmair (Oakville, Ontario) scored just 27 seconds in to make it 2-1. Cavaliere and Knapp each collected their second point of the afternoon with the assists. It marked Knapp's 13th career multi-point game and second of the season, while Cavaliere recorded her fourth career multi-point game and second of the season.
-The Black Bears responded just 27 seconds later when Lily Fetch tied the game at 2-2. Ava Stevenson and Altman were credited with the assists.
-Both teams skated to a scoreless third period to send the game to overtime.
-With 37 seconds remaining in overtime, senior
Sarah Davies (Mississauga, Ontario) scored on a breakaway to lift the Friars to victory. Sophomore
Jessie Pellerin (Bowmanville, Ontario) recorded the lone assist. The goal marked Davies' fourth career game-winning goal for the Friars and first of the season.
-Graduate student goaltender
Hope Walinski (Lincoln, R.I.) finished with 20 saves for the Friars.
-Providence improved to 2-0-0 in overtime this season, and Head Coach
Matt Kelly is now 16-10-20 all-time in overtime.
-The Friars also improved to 55-17-14 all-time against Maine.
