Women's Tennis Defeated By Marquette and Milwaukee In Spring Opening Weekend

MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Providence College women's tennis team opened its spring dual match slate with a 5-2 BIG EAST setback at Marquette University on Saturday, January 25. The Friars then fell to Milwaukee on Sunday, January 26 by a score of 6-1.

Elise Leik and Gabriella Plonowski scored victories for the Friars in singles play to account for their two points. The duo of Camila Barrera and Mae Abreu earned a win in doubles play, defeating their opponents by a score of 6-1. Plonowski followed up with a 7-5, 7-5 win in her match on Sunday against Milwaukee, finishing 2-0 on the weekend.

Full results from the matches are below. The Friars return to action on Saturday, February 1 against Merrimack. The match will take place at TRI West Bay in Warwick, R.I.
