Men's And Women's Swimming & Diving Teams Defeat Maine On Senior Day

The men’s team earned a 187-111 victory, while the women’s team claimed a 173-127 win.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men's and women's swimming and diving programs hosted the University of Maine for its annual senior day meet on Saturday, Jan. 25. The men's team earned a 187-111 victory, while the women's team claimed a 173-127 win.
The women's squad won eight individual events and tacked on a victory in the 200-SC meter medley relay. Bella Lombard and Annie Gathof were multi-event winners on the day. Lombard swept the 100 and 200-meter backstroke races. Gathof claimed wins in the 100 and 200-meter butterfly events. Gathof and Lombard also teamed up with Lauren Wagner and Rylie Foley in the 200-meter medley relay victory.
The men's team secured victories in 10 individual events and one relay (200-SC meter freestyle relay). Alex Beauchene had a stellar afternoon for the Friars, winning the 50, 100 and 200-meter freestyle races. He also anchored the 200-meter freestyle relay victory. Donny Frost was a two-time winner in the 100 and 200-meter breaststroke.
