Kim English announced today (June 17) that
Oswin Erhunmwunse (Benin City, Nigeria) has signed a financial aid agreement to attend Providence College in 2024-25. Erhunmwunse will begin taking classes this summer.
Erhunmwunse, a 6-foot-10-inch, 220-pound center attended Putnam Science Academy in Putnam, Conn. In 2023-24, he averaged 9.1 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.3 blocks per game at Putnam Science. Erhunmwunse shot 74.8 percent from the field this season. Also in 2023-24, he recorded six games with 10 or more rebounds and five games with five or more blocks. Erhunmwunse helped lead Putnam Science to two New England Basketball titles and two appearances in the national prep championship. Putnam Science won the national prep championship in 2023 and finished as the runner up in 2024. Erhunmwunse participated in the NBAPA Top-100 Camp in Orlando, Fla., on June 8-13 where he averaged 12.6 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.2 blocks. He also shot 49-73 (.671) from the field in the nine games at the NBAPA Top-100 Camp.
Erhunmwunse, a consensus four-star recruit, is the 23
rd ranked player in the nation and the No. 1 center according to Rivals.com. He also is ranked 31
st (second in his position) by ESPN.com and 39
th (third in his position) by 247Sports. He played AAU basketball for the BABC and Team New England on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit.
"Oswin is an elite talent and we are excited that he will be joining our team this season," English said. "Oswin has the ability to score the ball in a number of ways and is dominant on the defensive side of the ball. Most importantly, he has an infectious personality and he will be great fit for the culture of our program."
