PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College Department of Athletics has partnered with Rhode Island Medical Imaging to feature the 'Pink Out Friartown' initiative at the Providence College men's basketball game versus the No. 19/18 Creighton Bluejays on Wednesday, February 7, at the Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, R.I. It is the College's Annual 'Pink Out Friartown' game to promote breast cancer awareness. In order to create awareness about breast cancer beyond the month of October, Rhode Island Medical Imagining is aligning with the Friars as the presenting sponsor on Wednesday when the Friars host Creighton.
The game tips off at 8:30 p.m. at the AMP on FS2. Fans will be encouraged to wear pink and 'Pink Out Friartown' merchandise to create awareness as well as take part in ceremonies throughout the evening.
In addition, prior to the game and during the first half, fans will be directed to visit one of the Rhode Island Medical Imaging tables on the concourse. Friar fans will be given the opportunity to write the name of loved ones that have battled against the disease on custom branded cards and stand for a moment of unity during the under four minute timeout of the first half.
