PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College freshman forward
Trevor Connelly (Tustin, Calif.) was named to the 2025 U.S. National Team Preliminary Roster on Monday, December 2. The 28 players selected will convene for a training camp at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Mich., from Dec. 16-17. The 2025 World Junior Championship will be held from Dec. 26, 2024 – Jan. 5, 2025 at the Canadian Tire Centre and TD Place Arena in Ottawa, Ontario.
Connelly has recorded 10 points on two goals and eight assists in 10 games played with Providence College this season. On Nov. 11, he was named Hockey East Rookie of the Week after a six-point weekend, including a five-point performance in a 6-5 win at Northeastern where he scored twice, including the game-winning goal in overtime.
The 19
th overall selection in the 2024 NHL Draft by the Vegas Golden Knights, Connelly has appeared in three international tournaments for the U.S. – the 2023 Hlinka Gretzky Cup (Bronze), the 2023 World Junior A Challenge and the 2024 Under-18 World Championship (Silver). Connelly amassed 15 goals and 15 assists in 18 games played over those three tournaments.
NHL Network is the exclusive home of the IIHF World Junior Championship in the United States and will air every Team USA game of the tournament, in addition to many others, including all quarterfinal, semifinal and medal contests. E.J. Hradek and Tony Granato will call all U.S. games.
