PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College freshman forward
John Mustard (Oradell, N.J.) was named Pro Ambitions Hockey East Rookie of the Week on Monday, December 2. Mustard is the third Friar rookie to earn the recognition this season –
Will Elger (Oct. 28) and
Trevor Connelly (Nov. 11).
Mustard was instrumental in Providence's 2-0 record at the Adirondack Winter Invitational last weekend, posting a goal and two assists over two games with 10 shots and a +3 rating. On Friday in the 3-2 overtime win over Clarkson, Mustard registered an assist then followed up with the game-winning goal and an assist on Saturday against St. Lawrence. In 15 games played this season, he has totaled eight points on four goals and four assists with 59 shots on goal.
The No. 10 Friars finish out the first half of their schedule this weekend (Dec. 6-7) with a pair of home games against No. 8 Colorado College.
