Friar Athletics Holds Successful 2024 Newport Men’s Basketball Vision Cup Presented by Santander Bank

Providence College Men's Basketball Vision Cup raised Over $200,000.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College Athletic Department hosted its annual Men's Basketball Vision Cup, presented by Santander, on October 2 at Newport Country Club in Newport, R.I. The sold-out event successfully raised over $200,000 in support of Providence College Men's Basketball.
Following a beautiful day on the course, attendees participated in a speaking series led by Athletic Director Steve Napolillo '98. Head Men's Basketball Coach, Kim English, gave donors an exclusive look into the off-season preparation as the Friars gear up for the 2024-25 season. Men's basketball student-athlete Justyn Fernandez '27, with the support of Amica, had the chance to connect with guests during the post-golf dinner, expressing his excitement for the season.
"Thank you to Santander Bank, Newport Country Club, Amica, and the record number of golfers who participated in this year's Newport Vision Cup." said Athletic Director Steve Napolillo '98. "As we look to support our men's basketball program and compete for Big East championships the money we raised today is more critical than ever."
"The Vision Cup event in Newport was another great opportunity to spend time with our wonderful Friar faithful," Providence College Head Men's Basketball Coach Kim English said. "The generosity and support of this group is second to none. The dollars raised are a great foundation for the sustainability of our program."
"I am grateful to Amica for giving me the opportunity to speak and interact with the fans and supporters of Providence Basketball," shared Justyn Fernandez '27. "We will be excited to see those same faces in the AMP on November 4th."
