Providence College Student-Athletes Post A Record Fall Performance In The Classroom

The student-athletes combined for a record 3.40 GPA in the Fall Semester.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College student-athletes boasted a record GPA for the 2023 Fall Semester with a combined 3.40 GPA, the highest GPA for a Fall Semester and second-highest GPA of any semester on record (3.41 in Spring 2023).
"In this ever-changing college landscape, Providence College is committed to giving student-athletes the best experiences in the classroom and on the field of play," Providence College Athletic Director Steve Napolillo said. "I would like to express my gratitude to the student-athletes, the coaches and the office of student-athlete services for helping us achieve a GPA of 3.40, which is the highest ever registered during the fall semester by PC student-athletes. Purpose with Passion."
Nearly 80-percent of all student-athletes registered at least a 3.0 GPA, while 38 total athletes earned a 4.0 in the fall. The men's cross country team earned the highest men's team GPA with a 3.68. The women's hockey program checked in with the highest women's team GPA at 3.64.
