The team will tour Spain from August 15-25.

The Friar men's basketball team will visit Spain from August 15-25.

Friday, August 18 - Vs. Madrid All-Stars at 7 p.m. (1 p.m. ET)  at Canal de Isabel 11, Avenida Filipinas 54

Monday, August 21 - Vs. Valencia at 7 p.m. (1 p.m. ET) at Alqueria del Basket, C/del Bomber Roman Duart. Valencia

Wednesday, August 23 - Vs. Cataluna at 6:30 p.m. (12:30 p.m. ET)
Palau Blaugrana (home of FC Barcelona Basketball) Arístides Maillol s/n 08028 Barcelona, Spain.


Day 1 (August 15):
At 9:45 a.m. ET, the Friars departed for practice and then a trip to the airport.  Prior to departing, Fr. Zajac blessed the new Friar bus.

 

 
 
 


 





Day 2 (August 16):
The Friars landed in Madrid at 8:45 a.m. local time after a seven hour flight from Newark, N.J.  After collecting the baggage, the travel party proceeded to the hotel.  The squad was excited to see the city and get a taste of some of the local restaurants.


 

 
Day 3 (August 17):
Los Friars traveled 1.5 hours to Toledo and toured the city.  A historic city with more than 2000 years of history Toledo provided the team with a view of many great sights.  The team also had a mid-day practice then the entire Friartown group went to dinner at Meson Txistu.

 


 




Day 4 (August 18):
It's GAME DAY.  The Friars play the Madrid All-Stars at 7 p.m. (1 p.m. ET) at the Candal de Isabel 11 Avenida Pilipinas, 54. In the morning a group of Friartown fans and staff members went on a tour of the famous Bernabeu Stadium - home of Real Madrid C.F.  Then the fans and team toured the Madrid Royal Palace.  The Friars ended the day with a 103-70 win over the Madrid All-Stars.  Corey Floyd led the Friars with a team-high 17 points.

 
 
 
 


Day 5 (August 19):
Los Friars woke up in Madrid and traveled to Valencia via a two-hour train trip.  It is the second city of the Tour.


 
Day 6 (August 20):
Los Friars visited the Oceanografic in Valencia.  It is an oceanarium located southeast of the city center.  The team also practiced and enjoyed free time in the City, which was founded as a Roman colony in 138 BC.

 

 



 


 


Day 7 (August 21):
It's GAME DAY.  The Friars play Valencia at 7 p.m. (1 p.m. ET) at the Alqueria del Basket C/del Bomber Ramon Duart. 


 


 



 


 



 
 


Day 8 (August 22):
Los Friars left Valencia and traveled to Barcelona via bus.  The third and final city they will visit on this tour of Spain. 


 


Day 9 (August 23):
It's GAME DAY.  The Friars play Cataluna at 6:30 p.m. (12:30 p.m. ET) at the Palau Blaugrana (home of FC Barcelona Basketball) Arístides Maillol s/n 08028 Barcelona, Spain.  The Friars opened the day by touring the Basilica de la Sagrada Familia.  It is under construction and is the largest unfinished Catholic church in the world.


 



 

 


 


 


 

 


Day 10 (August 24):
Los Friars will spend their last full day in Spain before heading back to Friartown on Friday.  





Day 11 (August 25):
Los Friars embark on an eight-hour flight and a return to Friartown.
