Friars will play games in Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - It was announced today (July 27) that the Providence College men's basketball team will travel to Spain from August 15-25. The team will play games in Madrid on August 18, Valencia on August 21 and Barcelona on August 23. It will mark the Friars' second trip to Spain and the first since playing five games in Madrid on October 5-9, 1977. The last time the Friars took an international tour was in 2018 when they traveled to Italy. It will mark the ninth time the Friars have traveled overseas. In addition to Italy and Spain, the Friars also have been to France and Germany.
The Friars will depart from the United States on August 15 and arrive in Madrid. The team will play its first game of the tour versus the Madrid All-Stars on Friday, August 18 at 7:00 p.m. (1:00 p.m. ET). The team will return to action on Monday, August 21 against Valencia at 7:00 p.m. (1:00 p.m. ET). The Friars' final game will take place on August 23 at 6:30 p.m. (12:30 p.m. ET) versus Cataluna All-Stars in Barcelona.
In addition to the games, the Friars will be practicing and sightseeing during their time in Spain.

The Friars return seven players from last year's squad that posted a 21-12 mark and earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. Head Coach Kim English has added four transfer students and three freshmen to the 2023-24 squad.
