PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men's and women's hockey programs combined for a total of 36 Hockey East All-Academic Team honorees as announced by the Hockey East Association on Tuesday (June 20). A total of 395 student-athletes earned All-Academic Team recognition after achieving at least a 3.0 grade-point average in each of the academic periods of the 2022-23 season.
The men's hockey team earned 15 selections, while the women's squad garnered 21 selections.
Parker Ford (Wakefield, R.I.) and
Cam McDonald (Eagle River, Alaska) of men's hockey and
Jamie Comeau (Wakefield, R.I.) and
Sara Hjalmarsson (Bankeryd, Sweden) were named Distinguished Scholars after achieving at least a 3.0 grade-point average in each semester of four varsity seasons. Graduate students
Sandra Abstreiter (Freising, Germany) and
Caroline Peterson (East Falmouth, Mass.) were recognized for a fifth time while at Providence College. Comeau, along with
Lily Hendrikson (Edina, Minn.) and
Rachel Weiss (Calgary, Alta.) were named as Top Scholar-Athletes after achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA in 2022-23.
