Thygesen, Laadjel, And Principe Compete In Third Day Of NCAA First Round

The Friars return tomorrow, May 26 for the final day.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.– Providence College junior Pat Thygesen (Brisbane, Australia) competed in the men's steeplechase, while graduate student David Principe, Jr. (Johnston, R.I.) and sophomore Abdel Laadjel (Lucan, Irelans) ran the men's 5,000 meters today, May 26 at the NCAA Track First Round hosted by the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Fla. 
 
Thygesen ran a 9:03.93 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase to finish seventh in his heat.
 
In the 5,000 meters, Laadjel placed 12th in his heat in a time of 14:03.02 and Principe ran a 14:34.28 to place 20th in his heat.
 
The Friars return to action Saturday, May 27 for the next round of the women's 1,500 meters and the women's 5,000 meters.
