PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College women's swimming and diving team hosted Rhode Island in dual meet on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at Taylor Natatorium in Providence, R.I. The Friars claimed a 157-124 victory.
The evening was highlighted by the 800-meter (short course) freestyle relay team comprised of
Julia Renzelmann,
Natalia Robak,
Annie Gathof and
Katie Winklosky. The team finished first in the event with a time of 8:44.49 and set a school record. The previous school record time of 8:49.05 dates back to 1995 and was set by Kierstin Newell, Colleen Doyle, Colleen McGarry and Michele Tamburo.

Providence College men's and women's swimming and diving teams will return to action on Nov. 17-19 at the Harold Anderson Invitational. The three-day event will take place at the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, R.I. Trials are set for 10:00 a.m. each day and will be followed by finals at 5:45 p.m.
