PROVIDENCE, R.I.–The Providence College women's hockey team will travel to Brown University for the 28
th annual Mayor's Cup on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 1:00 p.m. at the Meehan Auditorium.
Scouting The Friars
The Friars are currently 4-9-0 and 3-5-0 in Hockey East play. Last weekend, the Friars were shutout by Merrimack College (1-0) on Friday, Nov. 17. On Saturday, Nov. 18 Providence defeated Boston University, 2-1.
Mireille Kingsley (Sudbury, Ontario) finished Friday night with 12 saves and
Hope Walinski (Lincoln, R.I.) recorded 19 saves on Saturday. Mégane Quirion (Saint Eustache, Quebec) and
Grace Shirley (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) each recorded a goal on Saturday.
Audrey Knapp (Stevens Point, Wis.),
Claire Tyo (Massena, N.Y.) and
Rachel Weiss (Calgary, Alberta) each tallied an assist.
Hockey East Preseason Poll
The Friars were picked to finish third in the Hockey East Preseason Poll, which was released on Tuesday, Sept. 12. The Friars, who received 74 points, were picked to finish behind Northeastern (88) and Vermont (75). The Huskies, who won the 2023 Hockey East Tournament, received eight first place votes.
Rounding out the poll was UConn (65), Boston University (59), Boston College (58), Maine (38), New Hampshire (35), Merrimack (28) and Holy Cross (20).
Fresh Friar Faces
Providence welcomes nine new players (two transfers and six freshmen) to the roster for the 2023-24 season.
Grace Shirley (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) is a graduate student from University of Wisconsin and
Hannah Johnson (Readfield, Maine) a junior from Syracuse University. The six freshmen are

Hockey East Award Winners
Audrey Knapp was named Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week as announced on Oct. 23 for scoring three goals in two games.
Scouting the Bears
The Bears enter the single-game matchup at 5-6-1 (4-5-1 ECAC). Last weekend, Brown tied Clarkson, 3-3, on Friday, Nov. 17. The Bears then lost to St. Lawrence, 4-0, on Saturday, Nov. 18.
Who to Watch
India McDadi and Jade Iginla lead the Bears with nine points. McDadi has six goals and three assists, while Iginla has recorded five goals and four assists.
Goaltender Kaley Doyle has started between the pipes in 11 games. Doyle has recorded 284 saves this season for a .925 save percentage and a 2.22 GAA.

Providence leads for the all-time series record against Brown, 14-10-3. Providence defeated Brown, 4-3, in last year's Mayor's Cup matchup on Nov. 26.
