Providence College's Grace Efosa Named To BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Efosa hit the game-winning shot with 4.4-seconds left to defeat Xavier on the road.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College junior guard Grace Efosa was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday, Jan. 30. It marked the first weekly league honor of her career.
Efosa scored a game-high 16 points, including the game-winning bucket with 4.4-seconds left in regulation, to lift the Friars to a 50-48 victory at Xavier on Saturday. She also hauled in a game-high eight rebounds and contributed two steals and one assist. Efosa shot 8-16 from the floor vs. the Musketeers.
For the season, Efosa has averaged 9.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. During BIG EAST Conference action, she leads the team in scoring with 11.4 points per game and also has contributed 4.8 boards and 1.6 assists per game. Efosa has recorded double-digits in the scoring column 10 times this season, including a career-best 27 points in the Friars' win over then-No. 25/24 Creighton on Jan. 4.
Providence (13-10, 4-8 BIG EAST) returns to action on Wednesday, Feb. 1 against No. 5/4 Connecticut. The game will be played at Alumni Hall in Providence, R.I. and is scheduled to tip-off at 7:00 p.m.
