WORCESTER, MASS. – The Providence College men's and women's swimming & diving teams competed against Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. on Jan. 21. The men's team scored a 188-106 victory, while the women fell to the Crusaders, 178-119.
Will Layden highlighted the afternoon on the men's side as he set a pool record in the 50-yard freestyle with a first-place finish in a time of 21.18. The previous record was set by Al Anderson of Army (21.46) in 1990. Layden also was part of two winning relay teams on the afternoon.
Seth Brodnick was a multi-event winner in the 1,000 and 500-yard freestyle races.
Alex Beauchene also won two individual events and was part of one winning relay. A list of first-place finishes on the men's side is below.

On the women's side,
Courtney Reilly had an impressive day in the freestyle events, winning the 100-yard and 200-yard races. She also was part of the winning 400-yard relay team.
Taylor Loud and
Sally Alrutz also won individual events on the day, and both were part of the 400-yard free relay win.
