The Friar Edge is a program focused on a holistic approach to student-athlete development.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College Athletics announced today [Sept. 15] that it has launched its official website focused on its student-athlete centered program called The Friar Edge (www.thefriaredge.com).
The Friar Edge program is focused on a holistic approach to student-athlete development. The comprehensive four-year model is based on six pillars of development, which include personal enhancement, academics, community, leadership, career and diversity, equity & inclusion. Programming related to The Friar Edge is tailored and structured to meet the needs of student-athletes as they progress through their four-year college experience.
The website also features a section dedicated to Providence College's Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC).
"We believe the Friar Edge program is one of the best in the country," Vice President and Athletics Director Steve Napolillo said. "It fulfills our daily commitment to our student-athletes, inspiring each to grow as leaders and citizens through a series of holistic developmental programming. It is my hope that our staff and our student-athletes pursue the goals of the Friar Edge program with our new mantra - Purpose with Passion - leading their approach. Our team intentionally plans a curriculum of speakers, workshops and other engaging opportunities to cultivate The Friar Edge within our student-athletes.
