GREENSBORO, N.C. – Providence College swimming & diving team members
Ryan Sharp (Mount Pleasant, Texas) and
Kevin Hood (Lithonia, Ga.) competed on day three of the 2022 Toyota U.S. Open Championships on Dec. 2. The event, which runs from Nov. 30 – Dec. 3, is being held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.
Sharp and Hood both posted lifetime bests in their respective events. Sharp competed in Heat 1 of the 100-meter butterfly and finished third in his heat with a time of 57.02. Hood competed in Heat 2 of the 100-meter breaststroke and touched the wall in a time of 1:06.52 (seventh).
Sharp and Hood will return to Providence College to compete with their teammates against Bowdoin College on Saturday, Dec. 31. The meet will take place at Taylor Natatorium in Providence, R.I. Diving events are slated to begin at 10:00 a.m. with swim events beginning at Noon.
