PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College Athletics is excited to introduce Huxley's Jr. Friars, which is a re-brand of the athletic department's official kids' club.
Â
Huxley's Jr. Friars is open to kids 12-and-under and priced at $20. The membership includes discounted ticket offers to Providence College Men's Basketball and Men's Hockey games along with free admission to Women's Basketball games and all other sports. Members will also have access to special events, promotions, prizes, and holiday themed activities.
Â
"This club is a part of our vision to build upon our national brand as a College and athletics department," Providence College Vice President/Athletics Director Steve Napolillo said. "Huxley is a big part of the Friar Family, and we are excited to grow new generations of Friars fans. One of the most rewarding parts is seeing young fans becoming Providence College students."
Â
Providence College's first mascot was a dalmatian that was introduced in the fall of 1935. The college continued with a live dalmatian as a mascot up until 1963 and reintroduced one in 1993 until Friar Boy V's passing in 2001. In 2017, the Huxley we know and love today was introduced – bringing back the dalmatian dog. The perfect companion for a Friar.
