PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Senior forward
Alyssa Geary helped guide the Providence College women's basketball team to a 2-1 record last week. Geary earned the league's weekly honor roll accolades for the second time in her career.
Last week, Geary averaged 14.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. In three games, she combined to shoot .433 from the field (13-30), including .416 from three-point range (5-13). Geary also converted 13-15 attempts from the foul line (.867).
In the Friars' BIG EAST victory over Villanova on Dec. 3, Geary registered her first double-double of the season, and second of her career, with 18 points and a career-high 13 rebounds.
Geary has recorded double digits in the scoring column in each of the last eight games, including a career-high 24 points against UMass. She ranks second on the team in scoring (13.1 ppg) and also contributes 4.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game.
The Friars return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 8 against cross-city rival Brown. The game will be played at Pizzitola Sports Center in Providence, R.I. and will tip-off at 6:00 p.m.
