Rhode Island requires masks at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -  Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee announced on December 15 comprehensive actions that will be required by the State of Rhode Island to address an increase in COVID-19 cases and alleviate pressures on our hospital systems.  One of the actions announced was that masking will be required for employees and patrons inside venues with a capacity of 250 or more regardless of vaccination status.  This will apply to all recreation and entertainment establishments, all historical and cultural establishments, all religious and faith-based organizations, and all retail or service businesses conducting operations in indoor venues.  As a result of this State of Rhode Island mandate, all fans and employees that attend the Providence College men's basketball games at the Dunkin' Donuts Center now will be required to wear masks, except when eating or drinking.

"Providing a safe and healthy environment for our student-athletes and spectators is our top priority," Providence College Athletics Director Bob Driscoll said.  "We understand the need for the State of Rhode Island's recent mandate requiring masking at our games at the Dunkin' Donuts Center and we appreciate the action by the State to address the seriousness of the COVID-19 pandemic.  In addition to the masking requirements at the Dunkin' Donuts Center, we will continue to require masks at all our indoor on-campus venues -- Schneider Arena, Alumni Hall and Taylor Natatorium."

The Friars' next home game will be on Wednesday, December 22 versus Georgetown at 6:30 p.m. on FS1.
