Will Layden Named BIG EAST Male Athlete Of The Week For Men's Swimming

Layden helped set three school records last week vs. Boston University
Providence College sophomore William Layden (Farmington, Conn.) helped shatter three school records this past weekend against Boston University. The sophomore set the individual record in the 50-meter freestyle, touching the wall in 23.25 to break PK Brannigan's record from 2017. Layden also anchored two relay teams that set top times in program history. Both the 200-meter medley and 200-meter free relay teams set school records of 1:44.47 and 1:34.34, respectively.Â
The Friars return to action on Nov. 19-21 at the Harold Anderson Invitational in Kingston, R.I. Prior to that, the women's team will hold a dual meet against URI on Nov. 10 at Taylor Natatorium in Providence, R.I.
