DURHAM, N.H. – Jackson Pierson scored with 19.5 seconds remaining in overtime as New Hampshire downed the No. 8 Providence College men's hockey team on Saturday night at the Whittemore Center. Providence claimed seven of the nine points up for grabs over the three-game set against the Wildcats over the past week.

NOTES
- UNH struck first at 3:11 of the first period as Tyler Ward's wrist shot from the point found its way through traffic and past Stauber.
 
- The Friars had multiple chances on their two power-play opportunities of the period but couldn't convert.
 
- Providence continued its strong play into the second period, outshooting the Wildcats by a 10-6 margin and finally leveled things at 7:21 of the period on Parker Ford's fourth tally of the season. Jamie Engelbert and Riley Duran earned the assists on the play.
 
- Both teams exchanged multiple scoring chances in the third period and overtime, but it was UNH's Pierson that took advantage of a turnover in 3-on-3 play and beat Stauber on the backhand with 19.5 seconds left in the extra session.
 
- Brett Berard's eight-game point streak to begin the season ended on Saturday night.
 
-The Friars' five-game winning streak over the Wildcats was snapped at five games.
