PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men's and women's hockey programs combined for a total of 34 Hockey East All-Academic Team honorees as announced by the Hockey East Association on Tuesday (June 30). A record total of 358 student-athletes earned All-Academic Team recognition after achieving at least a 3.0 grade-point average in each of the academic periods of the 2019-20 season.
A program record 18 men's hockey student-athletes were recognized as seniors
Vimal Sukumaran (Montreal, Que.) and
Spenser Young (Brentwood, N.H.) were named Distinguished Scholars after achieving at least a 3.0 grade-point average in each semester of four varsity seasons.

The women's hockey program boasted 16 All-Academic Team selections and three Top Scholar-Athletes, compiling a perfect 4.0 GPA for the season –
