Providence College Athletics Cancels Spring Practices And Competitions

The decision follows the NCAA, BIG EAST Conference and Hockey East’s cancellation of winter and spring championships.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College has announced the cancellation of all spring practices and competitions, effective immediately. This decision was made in response to COVID-19, and follows decisions made by the NCAA, the BIG EAST Conference and Hockey East Association to cancel all remaining winter and spring championships.
"These are unprecedented times, and the decision to cancel remaining athletic practices and competitions was made in the interest of health and safety," Vice President/Athletics Director Bob Driscoll said. "Our student-athletes, coaches and staff have represented Providence College with dignity and class and we are saddened that they will be unable to complete their respective seasons."
