EAST MEADOW, N.Y. – The Providence College Friars competed in first day of the 2020 BIG EAST Swimming and Diving Championships. The Friars set four records on the opening day of the meet.Â
The women's 200-yard medley relay, consisting of
Sally Alrutz,
Hannah Weber,
Katie Thornton, and
Lauren Zawacki, set a new program record with their time of 1:44.42.
The men's team tallied three new program records.
Andrew Ferrell improved on the program record in the 200-yard freestyle. In the 800-yard freestyle relay,
Andrew Ferrell,
Jack Armstrong,
PK Brannigan and
Justin Viotto set a new program record with a 6:44.96. At 1:33.51,
Aidan Hughes,
Kevin Hood,
Andrew Ferrell and
Brian Cantin set a new program best in the 200-yard medley relay.
