CHESTNUT HILL, MASS. – Senior Gabe Mollot-Hill made 24 saves in his second career start, but No. 2 Boston College broke a scoreless tie late in the second period in an eventual 3-0 win over the No. 12 Providence College men's hockey team on Friday night (Dec. 4) at Kelley Rink.

- The Friars put out a solid effort to kick things off in the first period, battling the Eagles to a scoreless period and outshooting them by a 15-6 margin. Greg Printz and Matt Koopman each paced the Friars with three shots on goal in the opening stanza.
- Trevor Kuntar gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead with 21.1 seconds remaining in the second period after an initial highlight-reel stop by Mollot-Hill.
- Boston College extended its lead to 2-0 at 7:36 of the third period on Nikita Nesterenko's finish off a feed from Jack McBain.
- Mike Hardman capped the scoring with an empty-net goal with 11 seconds remaining in regulation.
- Senior goaltender Gabe Mollot-Hill made his second career start on Friday night.
- Freshmen Brett Berard, Nick Poisson, Uula Ruikka and Chase Yoder all made their collegiate debuts. Graduate transfer Matt Tugnutt made his Friar debut on Friday night.
- Providence dropped its season-opener for the first time since the 2014-15 season.
