STORRS, Conn. - The Providence College women's ice hockey team tied UConn, 1-1, on Sunday afternoon in Storrs, Conn. The Huskies claimed the shootout by a score of 2-0, but the game goes down officially as a tie.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
- Freshman Maddy Coene (Clayton, N.Y.) netted her first collegiate goal to give the Friars a 1-0 lead at 11:51 of the first period. Brooke Becker (Orchard Park, N.Y) and Delaney Couture (Shrewsbury, Mass) assisted on the play.
-UConn knotted the game at 1-1 at 19:18 of the opening period on the power play when Savannah Bouzide scored from Claire Peterson.
- Providence held a 17-8 advantage in shots during the second period but either team could find the go-ahead marker.
-Overtime ended scoreless as the game remained tied at 1-1. Providence and UConn combined for three shots total in the extra session.
- In the shootout, the Huskies converted on their first two attempts to claim a potential extra point in the Hockey East standings.
-Sandra Abstreiter (Freising, Germany) ended the game with 24 saves for the Friars while Tia Chan tallied 33 saves for the Huskies.
