HAMDEN, Conn. - The Providence College women's tennis team opened the 2019 fall season this past weekend at the Quinnipiac Invitational Tournament (Sept. 13-15) in Hamden, Conn. The Friars faced a tough weekend of competition with many talented teams from Army West Point, Fairfield University, Sacred Heart University, Quinnipiac University, Boston University, Bryant University and the University of Connecticut.

On day one, the Friars opened doubles play with the first win of the season coming from Hailey Gurski and Mimi Dailey. The same day, the team started with their singles competition with all nine Friars out on the court. Brenna Magliochetti got her first win as Friar with a 6-4 6-3 score in the main draw. The second day continued with more singles play with Katie Mulvey and Julia Migliorini securing their first wins at PC alongside returners Natalie Pitocco and Mimi Dailey. The day was interrupted by rain and play was pushed back to Sunday. The final day had five Friars back in action in their back-draw matches. Aiden Epstein made it into the finals of the E draw with an 8-1 win before falling in the final match 8-4. However, freshmen Julia Migliorini was able to win three matches in a row securing the B Draw final win with a convincing 8-3 result.

The Friars return to action on Saturday, September 28 at the Providence College Invitational.
