PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Eleven members of the Providence College men's hockey program were named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team announced on Thursday (July 11). In total, 160 student-athletes across Hockey East earned All-Academic Team recognition after achieving at least a 3.0 grade-point average in each of the academic periods of the 2018-19 season.
Seniors
Hayden Hawkey (Parker, Colo.) and Garrett Gamez (Chino Hills, Calif.) were named Distinguished Scholars after achieving at least a 3.0 grade-point average in each semester of four varsity seasons. Kasper Björkqvist (Espoo, Finland),
Jacob Bryson (London, Ont.),
Vincent Desharnais (Laval, Que.),
Vimal Sukumaran (Montreal, Que.) and
Spenser Young (Brentwood, N.H.) were three-time All-Academic Team selections.
Gabe Mollot-Hill (Ottawa, Ont.) was named for the second time, while
Jon Barry (Hanover, Mass.),
Michael Callahan (Franklin, Mass.) and
Bryan Lemos (East Providence, R.I.) were named to the team for the first time.
