PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College women's tennis team wrapped up a two-match road trip to Xavier and Butler last weekend, dropping both matches 7-0 and 4-3, respectively.
After the duos of
Risa Takenaka/
Aidan Epstein and
Mimi Dailey/
Haley Gurski helped clinch the doubles point for the Friars, Butler responded by taking the first three singles matches. Takenaka rallied from being a set down to score a singles win from the No. 1 slot, but the Bulldogs claimed the decisive match from the No. 5 slot.
Natalie Pitocco finished all play with a win out of the No. 6 slot.
"The team was doing everything they could, but unfortunately Butler executed better at key moments that made the difference in the match," said Head Coach Jakob Klaeson.
The Friars are back in action on Tuesday, April 2 at Quinnipiac.
