Women's Tennis Scores 4-3 Win Over Marist

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Providence College women's tennis team earned a 4-3 victory on the road against Marist College on Tuesday, March 19 in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. The win marked the first victory on the road this season for the Friars, who improved to 3-11 overall in dual match play this season.
With the match tied up at 3-3, Natalie Pitocco came through for the Friars with a straight sets victory (6-3, 7-5) over Amy Galloway to clinch the match for Providence. After dropping the doubles point, the Friars came out strong in singles play by taking the first set in five of six matches. Risa Takenaka, Haley Gurski, Mimi Daily and Pitocco scored the singles wins for Providence.
"Everyone on this team has fought all season long, it was a fantastic team effort out there today," said Head Coach Jakob Klaeson.
The Friars are back in action on Saturday, March 23 at Seton Hall beginning at 2:30 p.m.
