PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Hockey East Association announced its weekly awards on Monday (Mar. 11). Providence College's
Tyce Thompson (Milford, Conn.) was named the Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week for the second time this season and it marks the fourth time a Friar has earned the recognition this season (
Jack Dugan – 11/19, 3/4).
Thompson continued his second half surge last Thursday against Boston College, scoring the first goal of the game early in the third period and assisting on
Josh Wilkins' game-winning goal as the Friars claimed a 3-1 win over the Eagles. He has totaled seven goals and 14 assists this season, including points in five of his last six games (3-3-6). Providence is 7-0-0 when Thompson registers a goal this season.
Providence College and Boston College will reunite this weekend in the Hockey East Quarterfinals for a best-of-three series at Schneider Arena beginning Friday night (Mar. 15). Tickets are now on sale at the Providence College Box Office, calling 401-865-GOPC and online at
