Volleyball Inks First Commit For 2020

Maryanne Boyle has committed to attended Providence College in the fall of 2020.

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- Head Coach Margot Royer-Johnson announced today [Nov. 15] that Maryanne "Mimi" Boyle (Columbus, Ohio) has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Providence College, beginning in the fall of 2020 and compete as a member of the Friars' volleyball program.
 
"Mimi is a great addition to our team." Head Coach Margot Royer-Johnson said. "Her lateral movement on the block and her offensive explosiveness will help us right away. Her speed and athleticism fit in perfectly with the system we are building."
 
The 5'11" middle blocker attends St. Francis DeSales High School and played club volleyball for Mintonette Sports. Over the summer, Boyle's Mintonette team was crowned the 2019 AAU Open Champions and was runner up in the 2019 Girls Open Junior Nationals. In her final high school volleyball campaign, Boyle helped guide her team to the 2019 Division I State Championship. Boyle recorded 16 kills in the State Championship match.
 
Off of the court, Boyle plans to study business or marketing at Providence College. Boyle is the daughter of Dein and Maggie Boyle. Her brother, Chris, plays football at Brown University.
 
Providence returns to action on Friday, November 15 at 6:00 p.m. versus Butler in Indianapolis, Ind.
