Bailey Burton Named Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week

Burton scored her first two career goals in the team’s opening home-and-home series against Quinnipiac.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Bailey Burton (Bloomington, Minn.) of the Providence College women's hockey team was named the Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday, Oct. 7.
 
Burton helped secure Providence's first win of the season on the back end of a home-and-home series against Quinnipiac on Friday, Oct. 4 and Saturday, Oct. 5. She scored the game-winning goal with 1:01 remaining in Hamden, Conn. after finishing a rebound put on net by Sara Hjalmarsson (Bankeryd, Sweden). The goal topped off a three-goal comeback as the Friars scored three unanswered to prevail, 3-2. The rookie finished with two points on the week after scoring her first career goal in the season opener.
