Bob Driscoll Unveils New Strategic Plan

The new Strategic Plan has a student-centered mission and core values.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College Athletics Director Bob Driscoll announced that he has unveiled a new Strategic Plan for his department.  The new strategic plan has a student centered mission and core values.

"This new Strategic Plan reaffirms our commitment to our student centered mission and core values," Driscoll said.  "We feel that this Strategic Plan will help guide our athletic department to a new level.  Included in our Strategic Plan are five key goals that highlight significant issues which will be critical for us to address as we strive for excellence and success."

Under Driscoll's guidance, the Providence College Athletics Department has reached new heights during his 18-years at the College.  In addition to having a student-athlete graduation rate of 95 percent, Friar student-athletes also have had great success in competition.  Highlighting this success are the men's hockey team (2015) and women's cross country team (2013), which each won NCAA titles.

FIVE GOALS:

1) To provide an enriching student-athlete experience committed to the pursuit and achievement of excellence.

2) To build a championship culture committed to diversity and inclusion, personal and professional development, accountability, and meaningful assessment.

3) To capitalize on the financial benefits of a successful NCAA Men's Basketball program in order to support the overall success of the Athletic Department and provide national exposure for Providence College.

4) To develop a sustainable financial model to support the department's strategic vision.

5) To build and sustain strong, synergistic relationships across campus, in the community, around the state, with conference partners, and with the NCAA.
