Providence College Mourns the Loss of Mark Adams, 27

Adams appeared in 98 games with the Friars from 2010-15.

PROVIDENCE, R.I.Former Providence College men's hockey defenseman Mark Adams (Boxford, Mass.) passed away suddenly on Monday (Sept. 17) at the age of 27.
 
"Our program is heartbroken with the passing of Mark," Head Coach Nate Leaman said. "He was a great teammate and a special part of our entire community. Our thoughts and prayers are with his entire family."
 
Drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the fifth round (134th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Adams appeared in 98 games for the Friars from 2010-15, totaling two goals and six assists. He appeared in all four NCAA Tournament games as the Friars captured their first-ever national championship in 2015.
 
Prior to Providence, Adams captained the 2009-10 Chicago Steel (USHL) where he recorded four goals and 10 assists. He also played three seasons at Malden Catholic High (Mass.) from 2006-09.
