2018-19 Swimming & Diving Schedule
PROVIDENCE, R.I.– Providence College swimming and diving Head Coach
John O'Neill released the program's 2018-19 schedule today [July 24]. The schedule features four home meets at Taylor Natatorium in Providence, R.I., and the program's annual winter training trip to Ponce, Puerto Rico.

Several student-athletes have qualified for the CSCAA Open Water National Swimming Championship, scheduled for Sept. 22 in Lawrence, Kan.  The qualifying period for this event includes the 2017-18 season and this summer.Â

The two programs officially open the 2018-19 season at the New England Catholic Invitational, held in Newton, Mass. on Oct. 5-6.

The programs host their first home meet of the year against Bryant University on Oct. 19 at Taylor Natatorium, before hitting the road for three-consecutive dual meets at Harvard (Oct. 26), Iona (Nov. 2) and Fairfield (Nov. 3).

The women's team will return to Providence, R.I. to host the University of Rhode Island on Nov. 7.

On Nov. 16-18, both programs will compete at the Harold Anderson Invitational, held at the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, R.I.  The USA Swimming Winter Nationals is slated for Nov. 30 – Dec. 1 in Greensboro, N.C.

The programs will head to Ponce, Puerto Rico on Jan. 3, where they will remain for eight days, for their annual winter training trip.

Two of the Friars' remaining four meets will take place at Taylor Natatorium.  The men's team will host Villanova on Jan. 12.  Both the men's and women's programs will finish regular-season competition at home against Holy Cross (Jan. 19) and hit the road to face Maine (Jan. 26) followed by a tri-meet against Seton Hall and Georgetown in New Providence, N.J.

Throughout the season, Providence College will seek to qualify as many student-athletes as possible for the BIG EAST Swimming & Diving Championships on Feb. 20-23 at the Nassau County Aquatic Center in East Meadow, N.Y.  Last season, the Friars saw more than 50 athletes qualify for BIG EAST Championship competition.
