Boston, Mass. -

The Providence College Dance Team traveled to Boston University today, Mar. 25th, to perform at the New England’s Best Showcase. The Dance team debuted their two new routines that they will use to compete at the National Dance Alliance (NDA) National Championships in just under two weeks. Providence performed at the showcase with some of the other top dance teams in the region, including Boston University, New Hampshire, Bryant, Boston College, UConn, Emmanuel, Bentley, Stonehill, UMass-Lowell, and Assumption.

The Friars first performed their jazz routine to Rag’n’Bone Man’s song Human. The ladies delivered a performance that conveyed their artistry through many technical elements. Providence took 7th place in the nation last year in Jazz at NDA Nationals, and this year’s routine shows no sign of back tracking.

The Dance team went on to ignite the crowd with their hip-hop routine. The routine took the fun energy that Friar fans have grown to love at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center all year and raised it to a completely new level. Adding significant difficulty and more moving parts to their typical game day routines, the Friars proved that they are ready to storm Daytona Beach when they compete in the Hip-Hop division for the first time ever.

The Providence College Dance team will go back into training mode as they finish polishing their routines before they depart for NDA Nationals on Wednesday, April 4th.
