Sept. 28, 2017 Fairfield, Conn. -
The Providence College Women's Tennis team took on Fairfield University today, losing their match in a close affair. The Friars started off strong in doubles play but came up just short in the end, losing 4-3.
With windy conditions playing a factor,
Katie Marvin and
Risa Takenaka led the Friars in the match, wining singles 3 and 1. The decision came down to Aiden Epstein, who came up just short in singles 2 with a 6-4, 6-4 loss.
Head Coach Jakob Klaeson called the match "disappointing" but hopes the experience will leave the team hungry for their next matches.
The Friars are back in action on Sunday, October 1 as they travel to Worcester, Mass. for a doubleheader facing Assumption and Holy Cross.
