OMAHA, NEB. - The Providence College women's basketball team fell to BIG EAST foe Creighton, 88-57, on Feb. 11 in Omaha, Neb. Yoyo Nogic (Lisbon, Portugal) paced the Friars with 13 points and Ny'Dajah Jackson (Oakland, Calif.) added a career-high 12 points. However, Providence could not contain the Jays' hot shooting on the other end. Audrey Faber led four Creighton players in double figures with 21 points as the Jays shot 54-percent from the field (32-59), including 17-36 from three-point territory (47-percent).

The Friars held a 7-5 lead with 7:29 remaining in first quarter before Creighton went on an 11-0 run to take a 16-7 lead (4:51). Providence cut the deficit to four (16-12) with 1:44 on the clock, but Creighton closed the quarter with six unanswered points to take a 22-12 lead after 10 minutes.

Providence closed the gap to get within three (25-22) with 5:42 on the clock in the second quarter. The Bluejays held off the threat with eight-straight points to gain a 33-22 advantage. The Friars rallied to get within six (35-29) with a 7-2 scoring edge with 1:19 on the clock, but Creighton knocked down its eighth three-pointer of the first half to make the score 38-29 at the break.

Creighton put together an 11-0 run to start the third quarter to take a 49-29 lead with 6:32 on the clock. The Bluejays outscored the Friars 30-11 overall in the quarter to take a 68-40 lead into the final frame.

The Bluejays maintained control of the game in the fourth with a 20-17 scoring advantage for the 88-57 victory. They hit nine of their 17 three-pointers in the second half (9-19). Faber led the charge from beyond the arc overall, hitting 5-9 of her attempts during the game.

Providence shot 41-percent from the field during the game (25-61) and was 6-14 from three-point territory (43-percent). The Friars took excellent care of the ball, committing a season-low seven turnovers. Creighton had just five miscues on the day.

Clara Che (Valencia, Spain) contributed nine points, three rebounds and a team-high four assists for the Friars. Providence assisted on 14 of its 25 field goals during the game. Sarah Beal (Matthews, N.C.) added eight points, four rebounds and three assists.

The Friars return to action on Friday, Feb. 17 against St. John's at Alumni Hall in Providence, R.I. The game will serve as the backdrop for the program's annual Pink Out Friartown event and also will celebrate National Girls and Women In Sports Day. Tip-off is slated for 7:00 p.m. and the game will be broadcast live on the BIG EAST Digital Network via FOX Sports GO.
