PROVIDENCE, R.I. -
On January 5, 2016, Providence College recognized the National Grid Foundation for their leadership support of the Keep The Heat On Challenge, which is sponsored by the Diocese of Providence.
This year marks the third-consecutive year that the National Grid Foundation has supported this effort which provides assistance to Rhode Island families who would not otherwise be able to afford to heat in their homes.
President of the National Grid Foundation, Bob Keller, presented a $100,000 check to Bishop Thomas J. Tobin at a ceremony that afternoon and was recognized on the court during the Friars’ basketball game later that evening. Keller was joined by Jim Jahnz and Monsignor Albert Kenney from the Diocese of Providence and Providence College Assistant Athletic Director Kevin Connolly.
If you would like to help local families this winter with a tax-deductible donation, or if you know someone in need of heating assistance, please visit www.heatri.com or call 401-421-7833.
