Sarah Beal Named To BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College junior guard Sarah Beal (Matthews, N.C.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday, Dec. 14. It marked Beal's second appearance of the season on the honor roll and third of her career.
In two games last week, Beal averaged 17.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 5.5 steals per game. She opened the week with a season-high 23 points and set the program's single-game steals record, with 10 thefts vs. Bryant on Dec. 9. The previous steals mark for a single game (nine) was set by Helen Jessie-Mency '91 vs. Pittsburgh on Feb. 5, 1991. In addition to her points/steals double-double vs. Bryant, she also chipped in three assists and one blocked shot.
On Dec. 12 vs. Florida Gulf Coast, Beal recorded her second-straight double-double with 12 points and a career-high 12 rebounds. It marked the third double-double of her career.
Providence College returns to action against Rhode Island on Sunday, Dec. 20. The game will be played at the Ryan Center in Kingston, R.I. and is scheduled to tip-off at 2:00 p.m.
