PROVIDENCE, R.I. - For the second straight week, the Providence College men's hockey team topped both of the national polls released on Monday (Nov. 16) after two ties versus Boston University over the weekend.

The Friars (6-0-3) matched a program record with a nine-game unbeaten streak to begin a season, a feat last achieved in 1990 and ran their unbeaten streak to 13-games dating back to last season (10-0-3).

Junior goaltender Nick Ellis was instrumental in keeping the Terriers at bay this past weekend, as he was rewarded with Hockey East Player of the Week recognition after totaling 73 saves and posting a .948 save percentage. Sophomore defenseman Jake Walman scored twice on Saturday at Agganis Arena, running his nation-leading goal total to nine in the process.

Up next, the Friars will battle the Huskies of Northeastern on Friday at Schneider Arena before visiting Matthews Arena in the second leg of the home-and-home series on Saturday.
