OMAHA, Neb. - The Providence College Friars defeated the Creighton Bluejays, 74-65, in BIG EAST action on Saturday, January 17 at CenturyLink Arena in Omaha, Neb. For the Friars it marked their second consecutive road win as they improved to 14-5 overall and 4-2 in league play. Creighton dropped to 9-10 overall and 0-6 in the BIG EAST. Sophomore Kris Dunn (New London, Conn.) led the Friars with 21 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and two steals.

The Friars led almost the entire game and jumped out to an early 10 point lead (14-4) just four minutes into the contest. However, the Bluejays went on a 13-4 run to cut the lead to just one point (18-17) after James Milliken scored two of his game-high 22 points on a jumper with 6:23 left in the half. PC responded with a 16-7 run of its own to enter half with a 10-point lead. Senior LaDontae Henton (Lansing, Mich.) hit a three in the closing seconds of the half to put the lead at 10. The Friars shot 4-8 from three point territory in the first half. Henton and freshman Jalen Lindsey (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) each had seven points to pace the Friars.

In the second half, the Friar lead never got below four points and got as big as 14 (59-45) with 7:22 remaining. The second half featured a combined 56 free throws by both teams. Dunn led all scorers in the second half with 17 points.

Henton added 18 points and junior Tyler Harris (Dix Hills, N.Y.) also scored in double figures for the Friars with 13. Senior Carson Desrosiers (Windham, N.H.) registered nine points, eight rebounds and six blocks.

The Friars shot 48 percent from field in the game, including 6-14 from three point territory.

Providence will return to action on Saturday, February 7 versus Xavier at the Dunkin' Donuts Center at 7 p.m. on Fox Sports Net.
