Providence Idol Winner Announced

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - After a close competition, a Providence Idol winner has been crowned. Genevieve Lacasse of Women's Ice Hockey is the first winner of Providence Idol. A student-athlete from each of our athletic programs competed to become our Providence Idol. As a result, Women's Ice Hockey will be awarded $1,000 toward their varsity athletic program.
Voting for the competition closed on June 30th. Not far behind Lacasse was Sam Schlich from Women's Swimming & Diving followed by Jake Nolan of Men's Lacrosse in third.
The nominees for each sport were:

Men's Cross Country/Track - David McCarthy
Women's Cross Country/Track - Emily Sisson
Field Hockey - Henni Tietze
Men's Ice Hockey - Alex Beaudry
