Smithfield, R.I. -
The Providence College women's tennis team was defeated by Bryant, 5-2, yesterday at the Bryant Tennis Complex.
The Friars established an early 1-0 lead by winning the doubles point, two matches to one. Senior Ayushi Sinha (Mumbai, India) and Junior Melissa Ferry (Cumberland, R.I.) utilized their experience to earn a decisive win (8-1) in the No. 3 doubles position.
In singles play the Friars failed to build on their momentum, as they lost five of the six matches.
